Multan cotton factory fire rages on for third straight day

MULTAN (Dunya News) - The fire in a cotton factory located at the Khanewal Road in Multan continued to rage for the third day on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
Fire tenders have been struggling to douse the massive blaze that broke out on Sunday. According to sources, 30 fire tenders and Army Aviation helicopters are taking part in the operation.
Rescue sources said that it may take several hours to bring the fire under control. They said that the fire has spread to other warehouses of the factory. Houses in the neighbourhood have been evacuated and electricity in the area has been suspended.
On the other hand, Director General (DG) Rescue Dr Rizwan Naseer has also reached Multan to monitor the operation. Sources said that it has been decided to start an inquiry into the failure of the fire rescue operation.
