PM Imran orders full-scale operation against dacoits in DG Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday ordered the law-enforcement agencies to launch a full-scale operation against dacoits in Dera Ghazi Khan.

On the other hand, Sindh government had also decided to launch a grand operation to crack down on criminal elements in Kacha area in view of deteriorating law and order situation in province.

According to sources, a detailed briefing had been given to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah by the police officials on this important issue. Police officials also requested for heavy machinery and modern weapons for the grand operation.

The chief minister was also briefed on the funds for the police personnel who will take part in the operation. The operation will be conducted in Shikarpur, Ghotki, Kashmore and Sukkur areas.

According to police sources, the Sindh chief minister had been requested to provide three new armored vehicles and modern weapons within 24 hours while the government should also provide secret modern equipment to the police.

Earlier, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had arrived in Karachi to review law and order situation and work out a strategy on the situation with law enforcement agencies.

The prime minister had directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to visit Karachi and devise a strategy with law-enforcement agencies over law and order situation in Sindh.

The minister will preside over an emergency meeting at the Rangers Headquarters regarding law and order situation of the province.

The minister will meet Chief Minister Sindh tomorrow (May 27) at 10 am and Governor Sindh at 1 pm. The law and order situation in Sindh and various security affairs related to province and Federal government will be reviewed during the meetings.

Talking to media before leaving for Karachi, the interior minister said that he was going to review the security situation, the mission is only peace.

Sources said that the minister will take important decisions in the meeting on law and order in Karachi and Sindh.
