ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government and the opposition parliamentarians Friday submitted a resolution, passed from the National Assembly (NA), in the United Nations office in Islamabad in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The government lawmakers held a rally under NA Speaker Asad Qaiser and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. The participants staged protest outside the Parliament House and raised slogans against Israel holding Palestinian flags.

Speaking on the occasion, Sadiq Sanjrani said entire Pakistani nation stands by the Palestinian people in this hour of trial. He said the world community must play its role for the resolution of the lingering dispute. Asad Qaiser said Pakistan has a clear stance regarding Palestine. He said the country’s political leadership is on the same page regarding this issue.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif led the opposition parliamentarians’ rally from the Parliament House to the UN office and submitted the resolution. Senate Deputy Chairman Qasim Suri was also among the opposition members.

Shehbaz Sharif talked to media and said Israel martyred innocent Palestinians by bombarding them and tortured people at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Barbarity against the people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has been ongoing for decades, he added.
