COVID-19 outbreak: Micro smart lockdown imposed in three sub-divisions of Kemari

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The local government on Wednesday has imposed micro smart lockdown in three sub-divisions of Kemari district in Karachi in the wake of increasing coronavirus cases.

According to details, unnecessary movement has been banned in the affected localities. The restrictions will continue in the areas till May 4.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 148 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 772,381. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 16,600.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 5,499 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 7,664 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,559 in Sindh, 2,953 in KP, 649 in Islamabad, 446 in Azad Kashmir, 225 in Balochistan, and 104 in GB.

Furthermore, 276,535 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 274,196 in Sindh, 108,462 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 70,984 in Islamabad, 21,127 in Balochistan, 15,873 in Azad Kashmir and 5,204 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 11,319,832 coronavirus tests and 47,301 in the last 24 hours. 672,619 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,528 patients are in critical condition.
