290 police personnel are appointed in coronavirus hotspots

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Police have registered 407 cases in three days over violations of coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in provincial capital.

As per details, out of total 407 cases, 194 cases have been registered in only last 24 hours. DIG operations has said that micro smart lockdown has been imposed in 79 areas of the city.

DIG Operations further said that 290 police personnel are appointed in coronavirus hotspots and are enforcing government orders in the areas.

He also urged people to follow government guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 100 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 663,200. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 14,356 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,084 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 6,319 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,495 in Sindh, 2,319 in KP, 563 in Islamabad, 350 in Azad Kashmir, 207 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.
