ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday has rejected the plea to stop notification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda’s senatorship.

The commission has sought written reply from PTI leader and accepted the petition to make advocate Rasheed A. Rizvi as party in the matter.

Moreover, the hearing has been adjourned till March 18.

Earlier, Sindh High Court (SHC) had summoned answers on March 16 from the ECP and other parties over PTI leader Faisal Vawda’s petition.

The court had issued notices in this regard. The PTI leader had moved the court against the ECP. He had requested the high court to stop the election commission from conducting ineligibility case against him.

Faisal Vawda maintained that the ECP does not have jurisdiction to hear complaints against him.
