Sindh government restores Commissionerate System

Former DCOs have been given the temporary charge of the division commissioner.

The Sindh government has restored the old status of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpur Khas divisions.According to a proclamation issued by the Sindh Chief Minister’s House, the Revenue Department has announced the names of five divisions and their districts.Karachi division will comprise of five districts, South, West, East, Central and Malir district.The precincts of these districts will be the same as were before the implementation of the Local Government Ordinance 2001.According to the proclamation, Hyderabad Sukkur and Larkana will comprise of five districts, while Mirpur Khas division will have four districts. Former DCOs have been given the temporary charge of the division commissioner.Former Karachi DCO Muhamamd Hussain Syed has been appointed as the Karachi commissioner.
