Senate elections: Hafeez Shaikh's win to be last nail in PDM's coffin, says Fawad Ch

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that the politics of the opposition is taking its last breath and the victory of Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the Senate elections will be the last nail in PDM’s coffin.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Fawad Chaudhry said that Senate election is the last big political battle. Maulana Fazlur Rehman is not a big name in the politics of Pakistan. Maryam Nawaz failed in the rallied and Bilawal in the parliament, he added.

He said that three members of PTI were abducted in Sindh. When a member of the Assembly came to tell his story on the floor, he was stopped.

He hoped that the Election Commission will take notice of the incident in Sindh Assembly.

He said that PTI brought the law for open ballot but PML-N leadership joined hands with PPP against the law and both parties opposed it. Under Article 218, the Election Commission can see the ballot.

The Federal Minister said that we have asked the Election Commission to implement the court’s decision on the issue of Senate elections.

The ECP said that they agree with the technology but there is no time for it. In our view, this position is weak. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to make the Senate elections transparent.

He criticized former President Asif Ali Zardari for not appearing in court due to illness but came to Islamabad from Karachi for Yousuf Raza Gillani s campaign. He said that the opposition believes that nominating Yousuf Gilani will bring a revolution.
