Karachi won't remain silent over controversial census: Mustafa Kamal
Mustafa Kamal said Karachi's population is more than thirty million.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chief Syed Mustafa Kamal Saturday said Karachi will not remain silent over controversial census and fight at every level if stats are not corrected.
Mustafa Kamal talked to media after appearing in an accountability court of Karachi and said the census cannot be declared legal as Karachi’s population is more than thirty million. We are disappointed because the problems of the metropolis are not being solved, he added.
“The Chief Justice of Pakistan himself said that Karachi’s population is over 30 million and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) said it has issued 24 million identity cards in the provincial capital.
“Not a single bus has been given to the city in 13 years. We remained silent when Karachi’s hospitals, universities and industries were destroyed and when it was turned into pile of garbage, but history will not forgive us if we don’t raise voice over the matter of census.
“The federal government is trying to save its allies. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) did not send a single notice to a party like Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).”
On the other hand, the accountability court conducted hearing on case pertaining to illegal allotment of Clifton land as Mustafa Kamal and other suspects appeared before it. The hearing was adjourned till January 30 due to absence of the investigation officer and witness.
