Problems of public to be solved at its doorstep: CM Buzdar

CM Punjab said that the new system of local bodies will truly empower the general public.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said that government is working to facilitate masses and to solve their problems at doorstep.

As per details, Provincial law minister Raja Basharat called on CM Usman Buzdar and briefed him about arrangements for upcoming local government elections.

During the meeting, CM Punjab said that the new system of local bodies will truly empower the general public.

Earlier on Thursday, the Punjab government apprised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) about the progress concerning local government elections and hinted at completing groundwork before September.

Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat appeared before the ECP as Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar’s representative and recorded statement on behalf of the provincial regime.

Raja Basharat told the ECP that the number of village councils in the province has been reduces to 8,000 from 25,000 and the elections would be held phase-wise. He said work is ongoing to complete preparations regarding the elections.
