Proscribed organisation leader Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi jailed for 15 years
The court found Lakhvi guilty of collecting and dispersing money for proscribed organisation.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sentenced Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, leader of a proscribed organisation, to 15 years in prison.
The ATC judge Ijaz Ahmad Battar pronounced the verdict after recording statements of witnesses and available evidence. He was sentenced to three concurrent five-year sentences.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had registered a case against Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi of the banned organization on December 7, 2020. He was accused of raising funds and running the banned organization.
The court found Lakhvi guilty of collecting and dispersing money for proscribed organisation.
Lakhvi was also accused of financing terrorists.
The court also ordered immediate arrest of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi s co-accused Abu Anas Mohsin. The court stated in its judgment that there were convincing evidence against accused Abu Anas Mohsin.
The court remarked that the accused Abu Anas Mohsin should be booked or declared a fugitive. The ATC also sent the convict s warrant to Superintendent Adiala Jail.
