PM willing to visit Quetta after burial of slain miners: Sheikh Rashid
Dead bodies are respectful for all and negotiations are still ongoing, Sheikh Rashid said.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has on Friday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is willing to visit Quetta after burial of the slain miners belonging to the Hazara community. Dead bodies are respectful for all and negotiations are still ongoing, he said.
The interior minister held a press conference in the federal capital and said work is in progress regarding the demands of the Hazara community as the Frontier Corps (FC) has been directed to conduct search operation at a large scale and DC, along with administration, has been suspended.
Sheikh Rashid said international forces are involved in targeting the Hazara community, and the premier has special sympathies towards the group. The minister urged religious scholars to play their part in persuading the families of the victim to bury their loved ones.
He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-president Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made political speeches in front of the Hazara community while Abdul Ghafoor Haideri pushed them to continue sit-in. Politics should be done at some other time as Pakistan is facing new wave of terrorism, Sheikh Rashid stressed.
