Govt working on reviving Pakistan Steel Mills: Mian Soomro
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro has said that the government is working on reviving Pakistan Steel Mills and running it at its actual production capacity.
A special meeting regarding the matter was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister was apprised of the privatization progress of institutions included in the Active Privatization List. These include SME Bank, House Building Finance Corporation, Services International Hotel Lahore and Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad.
The Federal Minister was informed that the work related to privatization of these institutions is in the advanced stages. A briefing was also given on the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.
The Minister said that the transaction structure of the steel mills would be approved by the Cabinet Committee on Privatization, following which it would submitted to the Cabinet for approval.
