Pakistan Steel Mills employees protest against dismissals on fifth day

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Steel Mills employees protested against the dismissals for the fifth day. Employees staged a sit-in on Bin Qasim railway track which badly affected the movement of trains.

According to details, Tezgam, Karachi Express and Karakoram could not reach Karachi. More than nine trains from Cantt station were delayed.

The strike continued till late at night. Negotiations with DC Malir also failed. However, DC Malir Ghanwar Khan Leghari hoped that the government would accept the legitimate demands of the employees.

A circular based on the final settlement of the employees  dues was also issued but the employees have demanded reinstatement on the job instead of compensation.

PTI Karachi president Khurram Sher Zaman alleged that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is responsible for the destruction of steel mills.

On the other hand, the delegation of Steel Mills Action Committee called on the MQM Coordinating Committee. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced his full support for the demands of the employees.
