No restriction on labor visas for Pakistanis in UAE: Zulfi Bukhari
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari has said that there is no restriction on labor visas for Pakistanis in the United Arab Emirates as UAE officials themselves have rejected such reports.
Zulfiqar Bukhari said this in a meeting of government spokespersons chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He briefed the meeting on issues related to Overseas Pakistanis.
The Special Assistant said there were no restrictions on labor visas for Pakistanis in the UAE. UAE officials have been contacted and they have vehemently denied such reports, he added.
He said that UAE encourages highly trained Pakistani labor to work in the country. According to UAE, Pakistani labor accounts for 11% of total workforce despite the coronavirus pandemic.
He told the meeting that UAE’s priority was to rehire the workforce that had become unemployed during the lockdown. The country has also facilitated Pakistan by giving Golden Visa to highly professional workers.
