Foreign agreement: PEPCO likely to be dissolved by June 30

The government has decided to dissolve PEPCO in light of an agreement with global institutions.

According to sources, PEPCO would be restructured. The grid system would be subordinated under the National Damage and Transmission Company.The water and power ministry as well as the federal board have approved the dissolution of PEPCO.The PEPCO MD Rasool Khan Mesood would perform as NTDC MD. He would take charge on July 1.The Asian Development Bank (ADB) would issue an urgent loan worth Rs 100 billion after the formation of PEPCO’s new structure.
