Sindh govt should take action against police officers who revolted: Shibli

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said that we appreciate the decision of Pakistan Armed Forces on the Karachi incident. He said even on the civilian side, what is wrong should be said wrong.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the Federal Minister said that the process of self-accountability of the Pakistan Armed Forces came into force over the Karachi incident. If the case had been registered on time, the matter would not have been more complicated.

He said that on the other hand, now the Sindh government has to submit its inquiry report. The provincial government should also take action against officers who refused to perform their duties.

The Information Minister was talking in his press conference on the issue of taking notice of the Karachi incident by the Army Chief and removal of two officers.

He said that IG Sindh should also investigate the matter, adding that the federal government had nothing to do with the matter.

Talking about the second wave of coronavirus across the country and the growing fears of its spread, he said that the cases are increasing. Coronavirus is a very deadly disease. Everyone will benefit if we are careful.

"We will provide targeted subsidies," he said. It is not possible for a person staying at the Marriott Hotel to get a subsidy. Past governments have not improved the system, which has made the lives of the poor miserable. Subsidies should benefit the poor. Assistance program data will also be used for subsidies, he added.
