Rawalpindi: Protest rally held against publication of blasphemous caricatures
A large number of traders, students and people from all walks of life participated in protest rally
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Traders community of Rawalpindi organized a protest rally in the city against publication of blasphemous caricatures in France, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
A large number of traders, students and people from all walks of life participated in the protest rally which started from Fawara Chowk and culminated at the Committee Chowk.
All trade centers and shopping malls at Raja Bazaar, Saddar, Committee Chowk and Murree Road remained closed during the protest. The protesters set fire to an effigy of the French President Emmanuel Macron.
The protesters also demanded boycotting all French products as well as urged the government to call back Pakistan’s foreign mission in France and kick out the French ambassador in Islamabad.
