FM Qureshi telephones Turkish counterpart, praises President Erdogan's stance on blasphemous caricatures
Shah Mahmood Qureshi extended felicitations to Mevlut Cavusoglu on Turkey's 97th Republic Day.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned his Turkish counterpart – Mevlut Cavusoglu – on Wednesday and praised President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s solid stance over blasphemous caricatures.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi extended felicitations to Mevlut Cavusoglu on Turkey’s 97th Republic Day. The Turkish foreign minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement regarding Islamophobia is commendable.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also made a telephonic contact with his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atmar and said Pakistan is desirous of a peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan. Peace in Afghanistan is linked with peace and stability of region, he said.
The Pakistan FM said intra Afghan dialogue provides an excellent opportunity for peace and the Afghan leadership must seize this opportunity. He said it is imperative to make the intra afghan dialogue result oriented in order to realize the dream of durable peace in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region including Afghanistan.
Alluding to the historic fraternal ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has announced a new visa policy to facilitate the travel of Afghan people.
