Country must move towards new elections

BAHWALPUR (Dunya News) - Senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal has said that the country cannot do without paving the way for new elections. After his own failure, the Prime Minister is dragging national institutions into politics.

Talking to media in Bahawalpur, he said that the opposition is fighting the battle for the country’s 220 million citizens and its constitution. PML-N is fighting for democracy from the platform of PDM, he added.

The former Interior minister said that PML-N completed all developmental projects in South Punjab and industrial infrastructure was to be set up in 2018. From 1947 till our government the price of sugar was Rs 55 per kg but now it has crossed Rs 100, he said.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government should care about the Kashmiris as much as it does about Kulbhushan Yadav. Pakistan’s weak foreign policy made it easy for India to gobble up Kashmir. He said the country has been thrown into a quagmire and now the Prime Minister is dragging national institutions into politics.

He said the opposition is battling against violations of the constitution, not with the institutions. Just two rallies of the PDM have completely rattled the government, he added.
