Islands ordinance is an attack on Sindh's integrity: CM Murad Ali Shah

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has termed the presidential ordinance on islands ‘an attack on the integrity of Sindh’ and announced to bring a resolution against it.

Addressing Wednesday’s session of the Sindh Assembly, he said that even before the 18th amendment, the islands belonged to Sindh. The President can issue ordinances at the request of the federation but it goes against the constitution. They don’t even know the names of the islands, it was a power-drunk move, he added.

Murad Ali Shah said that we will forcibly make the federation withdraw this ordinance. Had the opposition members stayed in the House instead of walking-out as an excuse, he would have explained what the Presidential Ordinance entails, the CM said.

The Chief Minister said that he would not call those who did not support him ‘traitors’, but the federation should withdraw the islands ordinance as the entire Sindh is protesting against it.
