Shehryar Afridi removed as Minister of State for Narcotics Control

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - After the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi has been denotified.

The Cabinet Secretariat has issued a notification in this regard. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister has withdrawn this portfolio from Shehryar Afridi once before too.

However, he was reinstated a few days later. The Prime Minister had taken action and initiated a cabinet reshuffle after the report on the flour and sugar crisis came to light in April this year.

Meanwhile, Senator Azam Swati, the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, was given the portfolio of Narcotics Control in place of Shehryar Afridi.
