Nawaz Sharif playing into India's hands: Ch Pervaiz Elahi
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that Pakistan Army is the guarantor of national security and stability and Nawaz Sharif’s APC speech was a scathing showcase of anti-nationalism.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that like in the Dawn leaks controversy, it has been proven that the PML-N supremo is still playing into the hands of India.
He said in his video statement that the Army is the guarantor of security and stability of Pakistan. It is a constitutional institution and its cooperation with the government is also a constitutional process, he added.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that Nawaz Sharif has violated the constitution by opposing this process, which is both regrettable and reprehensible. He advised Nawaz not to follow the footsteps of former MQM chief, otherwise his fate would not be too dissimilar.
The Speaker said that just a few days ago, realizing the dangerous intentions of India, the Chief of Army Staff had ordered his troops to intensify its battle preparedness. Nawaz Sharif’s brazen attack against Pak army during such a time is an example of his hostility towards the country.
He said that Indian media quickly picked up Nawaz Sharif’s anti-military rhetoric and used it against Pakistan.
