Meera Shankar is tipped to be Indias new Foreign Secretary as Nirupama Rao will be made US envoy.

Meera Shankar is currently serving as Indian ambassador to the US.61-year-old Nirupama is set to retire as Foreign Secretary on July 31. She is working on extension given to her in December 2010. She was Indias first woman ambassador to China in 2006.Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said that all issues, including terrorism, will be discussed in the secretary level talks starting in Islamabad on Thursday (today).
