People forced to carry 'dead' on boats after heavy rains across country

KARACHI (Dunya News) – People were forced to carry a dead body on boat after heavy rains and 200,00 cusec water in Jhelum river flooded more than 85 villages in Jhang.

According to details, low-lying areas have been inundated in different cities of the country due to light and heavy rains. It rained heavily in Sindh including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Hala, causing water to accumulate in low-lying areas. It rained again in Hyderabad, adding to the problems in the already flooded areas.

Nawabshah, Tando Allahyar, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas and Nokot also received showers with strong winds. Power and communication systems in Kashmore were disrupted.

Rain also fell in different cities of Punjab including Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Mianwali Sadiqabad, Jahanian and Chishtian. Heavy rains also lashed Muzaffargarh, causing water to accumulate in low-lying areas.

Clouds also covered various places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Tank and Swabi. The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains across the province today.

Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued instructions to the concerned agencies in view of the situation. Intermittent rains are also continuing in Murree and Galyat, which has increased the risk of landslides.
