PM Imran launches anti-stunting Ehsaas Nashonuma program

Pakistan stood at second in the region for stunting as 40 percent of children faced stunted growth

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday officially launch Ehsaas Nashonuma program to prevent stunted growth of the children in the country.

Accompanied by his Special Assistant on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar, the prime minister visited a Nashonuma Center established in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where he was briefed about the program.

The resolution of stunting issue among the children has always been among the prime minister’s priorities which faced neglect by the previous governments, according to a PM Office press release.

Ehsaas Nashonuma is the first anti stunting program in the country’s history. The budget of this year program is 8.52 billion rupees.

Under this program, the deserving families will be provided with nutritious food along with quarterly stipend which will be two thousand rupees for the girls and fifteen hundred rupees for boys.
