Sindh govt extends Eid holidays

Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today across the country with religious fervor.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Government of Sindh has announced extension in Eid-ul-Azha holidays by one day, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

According to the new notification issued by the Sindh government, the Eid-ul-Azha holidays have been extended till August 3.

According to earlier notification issued by provincial government, Eid-ul-Azha holidays were announced from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2.

It is pertinent to mention here that Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today (Saturday) across the country with religious fervor to commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS).

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for well-being of the Ummah and progress, prosperity and security of the country.

Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country.

Ulema in their Khutbah of Eid highlighted the significance of the philosophy of great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
