Shalimar Express derails near Khanpur
RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) – Shalimar Express and Downside goods trains have collided in Khanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan.
According to details, 27 Shalimar Express and downside goods trains have collided at Jatha Bhatta station in Khanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan. The Shalimar Express was going from Karachi to Lahore.
Railway sources said that the accident took place due to an automatic ‘switch’ change. Traffic on both sides has been suspended due to the accident.
According to sources no casualties have been reported in the accident.
It is pertinent to mention that a train accident took place in Farooqabad area of Sheikhupura yesterday in which 22 Sikh pilgrims lost their lives.
According to the preliminary investigation report, the accident took place due to the haste of the coach driver. The last rites of 17 Sikh pilgrims have been performed in Nowshera today.
