MQM accuses Mirza of Alams killing

The MQM has demanded that the Supreme Court should order a probe into the killing of Zia Alam.

The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee accused former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza of Zia Alam’s killing, a lawyer who was shot dead yesterday, in Karachi.It was revealed in a MQM Coordination Committee statement that Alam was defending Ajmal Pahari, a target killing accused, in court and had helped his acquittal in many cases. The statement said that it was evident that Zulfiqar Mirza was involved in the killing and the MQM appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take notice of the incident and order a high level probe.
