Govt benefiting mafia by increasing petrol prices: Rana Sanaullah
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah has said that government has given benefit of billions of rupees to mafia by increasing prices of petroleum products.
Rana Sanaullah, while lashing out at the government for increasing prices of petrol by 25.58 rupees, said that the fresh hike will take money from pockets of the masses and put it in the hands of mafia. He added that he does not know whether there is mafia in the government or government itself is a mafia.
PML-N leader, while terming the recent hike in fuel prices as ‘biggest robbery of history’, further said that billions of rupees are being looted by flour, sugar and wheat mafias but law enforcement agencies are nowhere to be found.
On the other hand, PPP’s Abdul Qadir Padel has demanded that FIA should investigate the petrol hoarding and said that government did not fulfill even one of its promises.
Earlier on June 26, government decided to revise the existing prices of petroleum products in view of the rising oil prices trend in the global market.
The price of petrol was increased by Rs25.58 to Rs100.10 per litre, while price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) increased by Rs21.13 to Rs101.46 per litre.
On the other hand, the price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) increased by Rs17.84 to Rs55.98 per litre and the price of Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO), has been increased by Rs23.50 to Rs59.06 per litre.
