Roti and Naan prices in Punjab have been raised to Rs 10 and Rs 15 respectively

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Roti and Naan prices in Punjab have been raised to Rs 10 and Rs 15 respectively by the Muttahida Naan-Roti Association in a meeting on Friday. Chief Minister Punjab has rejected the price hike and directed the administration to take action against the unilateral move.

The Muttahida Naan-Roti Association convened a meeting and raised prices withut consultation with any other party. The new prices will apply from June 10. Announcing this, Aftab Gul, President Muttahida Naan-Roti Association, justified the move as the price of wheat has increased from Rs 1400 to Rs 1700 and a 20kg bag of flour now costs Rs 925 instead of Rs 800.

He said that the bag of fine flour has also been increased from Rs 3900 to Rs 4500 so keeping these price increasing view, it is not possible to keep selling at the old prices.

Muttahida Naan Roti Association says that if the government restores old flour prices, we will also maintain the price of roti and naan.

CM Buzdar has outright rejected the price hike and directed local administration to provide relief to the public. Speaking on the issue, DC Lahore said that the government would not allow self-imposed increase in prices.
