High temperatures of northern areas may trigger large scale snow-melting during the week.
Most parts of the country are in the grip of severe heat wave while the temperature is expected to reach up to 50 C in central areas.Met Office informed that due to the intensity of current heat wave, the temperature in Islamabad is also expected to reach 45 C.Warm and hot weather is also predicted in the northern areas during next few days.The abnormally high temperatures of northern areas may trigger large scale snow-melting during the week.Due to snow-melt, the flow of water in the hilly streams and local rivers of Gilgit-Baltistan and Malakand Division (especially in Gilgit, Chitral and Swat rivers) is expected to increase from mid week.
