Faisalabad: Textile factory owners, exporters reject budget

No relief has been provided to textile sector in the budget, owners said.

The Faisalabad Industrial Development and Management Company Chairman Asim Khursheed said that textile sector was exempted from Excise Duty, therefore, this step would not provide any relief to the sector.The Council of Looms Owners Chairman Waheed Ramay said that end of Zero Rate on electricity bills would hamper the small industries. According to the Pakistan Hosiery Manufactures and Exporters Association Chairman Slamat Ali, textile exporters have rejected the budget, adding that the six associations of the textile have sent 16 proposals to the government for the uplift of the sector but no one has been considered.
