Two former Punjab MPAs join PML-Q for local government elections

Both politicians met Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday.

GUJRAT (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has begun activities for the local government elections.

From Samundri, a city in Faisalabad District of Punjab, two former MPAs of the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Mazhar Ali Gul and Arif Gul on Monday joined the PML-Q for participating in the local government elections as the party’s candidates.

Both politicians met Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, and exchanged views on political affairs. PML-Q MNA Monis Ellahi and party’s stalwart Kamil Ali Agha were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr Pervaiz Elahi told the new members to increase political activities in Faisalabad, and strengthen the party by “bringing along workers and partners”.

He further stressed on getting united to win maximum numbers in the upcoming local government elections.

The Speaker said that the PML-Q has served the general public through local government representatives across the province, and hailed their efforts for resolving people’s issues at their doorsteps.

He also recalled previous local government system and called it “the golden era in the history of Punjab” that observed record developments and execution of public welfare works.

Other influential persons who joined the party were Ch Khalid Mahmood Gul, Hamza Khalid Gul, Sheikh Azhar Iqbal and Haji Abdul Qadir.
