Pakistan, India hold talks on Siachen issue

Defence secretary-level talks between Pakistan and India on Siachen issue continue in New Delhi.

Four-member delegation of Pakistan headed by Defence Secretary Lt General (Retd) Syed Ather Ali is participating in the talks while on Indian side six-member delegation headed by Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar is participating. India had deployed its forces at Siachen, a glacier 18,000 feet high from sea level in 1984 after which Pakistan had also had to deploy the forces in response.From defence point of view, both the countries have lost hundreds of their soldiers due to hostile weather condition.
