Power shortfall reaches 6,000MW

Hour-long electricity hits industries, consumers hard.

According to PEPCO official, the country is producing 12,175MW electricity, while the demand has reached 18,160MW. Due to 6,000MW shortfall, the load shedding duration has reached 12-14 hours in urban areas and 18-20 hours in rural areas. In Peshawar, the load shedding duration has reached 20 hours. While in other provinces, 12-14 hours unscheduled load shedding has become a routine matter.
