'Accountability for all', vows PM Imran on murder of minor boys in Kasur

PM Imran Khan has removed the DPO Kasur from his post after taking notice of the murder.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken immediate notice of sexual assault and murder of three minor boys in Kasur and said, ‘There will be accountability for all‘ in this horrific matter.

According to details, PM Imran Khan has removed the DPO Kasur from his post after taking notice of the murder and alleged abuse of children in Chunian.

He took to Twitter and expressed that the police will be corrected on a large scale, "On the Kasur incident: There will be accountability for all. Those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task”.

He continued asserted, “Following actions have so far been taken by the Punjab police & the provincial govt: DPO Kasur being removed. SP investigation Kasur surrendered, charge sheeted and being proceeded against. DSP and SHO suspended. Major overhaul in Kasur local police on the cards. Formal probe ordered under Addl IG.”

On Sept. 17, Three children, who were abducted months ago from different places, were found dead in the area of Chunian, tehsil of Kasur District. Children were identified as Salman, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Faizan. It has been reported that the children were murdered after getting sexually tortured.

Skeletal remains of the two boys were found at a deserted place in Chunian Industrial Estate area. Dead bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdartook strict notice of tragic incident about recovery of children corpses in the area of Chunian and sought a report from the Inspector-General (IG) of Police Punjab Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan on the matter.

CM Buzdar directed the officials to immediately trace out the accused involved in the murder of children. He asserted that strict legal action should be taken against the accused by bringing them within the confinement of law.

He expressed that justice will be provided to the bereaved families at any cost. “Those involved in such heinous acts of murdering the children do not deserve any concession and cannot escape from stern punishment according to law,” he added.

CM Buzdar extended heartfelt sympathies and condoled with the bereaved family members of the children.

Scores of protesters were outraged in front of the Chunian City Police Station over kidnapping, raping and brutal murder of three boys in Kasur.

The protesters pelted stones randomly at the police station and chanted full-throat slogans against what they called the failure of the Chunian police to recover three missing minors and curb the incidence of child abduction.

A day after the remains of three minor boys after being sexually assaulted were found in Punjab’s Kasur district, family members of the boys and the enraged demonstrators also burnt tyres on the main highway that blocked the traffic for several hours.

On the other hand, an autopsy report of eight-year-old Faizan was released after police collected evidence from the area as an investigation into their deaths went underway.

According to the report, the boy was strangled to death after being raped and tortured. Samples were also sent to a forensic lab for further probe.

Meanwhile, traders and businessmen of the region have called for a complete shutter-down strike. They said that the strike would continue till the arrest of the culprits involved in the brutal crime.

Officers said the police have arrested 12 suspects, who have been shifted to an unknown place. Kasur DPO Abdul Ghaffar Qaisarani told the media that an action would be taken against the suspects in accordance with the law after they undergo DNA tests. He stated that the unidentified corpses were approximately two months old.

Moreover, Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan has constituted a six-member committee for complete investigation into the rising incidents of child abuse in the recent years which has garnered international attention, particularly after the murder and rape of minor child Zainab Ansari.

The committee will submit the report within three days to the IGP.

The deaths have thrown Kasur again into the spotlight as a horrific reminder of the rape and muder of six-year-old girl Zainab Ansari - a case that sent shockwaves through the nation, causing widespread outrage and protests across the country.

Zainab was kidnapped on January 4, 2018 near her aunt’s house in Kasur. Her body was found in a trash heap in Kasur in January 2018.

At that time, the protests in Kasur were resulted in the killing of two people when police opened fire at the protesters while #JusticeforZainab became a rallying cry for an end to child abuse.

Imran Ali, who was convicted for Zainab’s rape and murder, was hanged to his death nine months later.
