LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chiuef Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has expressed concern over increasing incidents of police torture. He said such incidents have earned defame for the department.
Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Police reforms in department are need of the hour.
Chairing a high level meeting in Lahore on Monday, he said that thana culture and behavior of the police officers towards the public should be changed.
He said that the improvement in the police system and dispensation of justice to the oppressed is the top priority of the present government.
He ordered to conduct an inquiry against those police officials involved in torture cases. He said no one would be allowed to torture citizens. He said any action with prisoners which is beyond the law would not be acceptable.
