Four children die after drowning in pond in Faisalabad
The children were taking bath in a pond dug by a brick kiln owner to store water.
FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – At least four children, aged between eight to twelve years, drowned while taking bath in a pond in Nishatabad area of Faisalabad on Friday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the children were taking bath in a pond dug by a brick kiln owner to store water when they drowned. Residents pulled the children out of the pond and shifted them to Allied Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
The deceased were identified as 8-year-old Hanzala, 9-year-old Asad, 10-year-old Ismail and 12-year-old Abdur Rehman.
Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar, took notice of the incident and sought report from Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad. Meanwhile, police have arrested the supervisor of the brick kiln and conducting raids to arrest its owner.
