Citizens' suffering intensified after rain wreaked havoc in the provincial capital

(Web Desk) – Rain which is otherwise a blessing and a sight for sore eyes has wreaked havoc in the life of Karachiites. The delightful feelings associated with the rainy hue simmered in water pools across the city.

Citizens though initially glad at the cover provided by clouds from the sun, were soon left in a sorry state when the fragile and outdated sewerage system of the city stopped working and turned the streets into pools of water in every nook and cranny of the city.

Karachi which has been waiting for some kind of respite and development of infrastructure, has been left to face this water inundation. The rainfall recorded in different parts of the city were; Surjani 119, Saddar 98, Faisal Base 71, North karachi 65, Jinnah Terminal 60, University road 55AP 53, Ghulshan e Hadid 52, Masroor 48, Landhi 43, Nazimabad 39, Kemari 14.

The rain has dampened not only the spirits but pictures reveal citizens suffering intensified after rain wreaked havoc in the provincial capital.

Motorists and pedestrians both suffered hugely and the routine life has been disrupted and marred by the after effects of the monsoon spell that is yet to continue. With Rain/wind-thunderstorm expected at scattered places on Tuesday night in Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Kalat, Makran divisions, while at isolated places in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Zhob, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur divisions, Kashmir and Islamabad.
