Al Qaeda leaders hiding across Pakistan: US news channel

A US news channel has said that more Al Qaeda leaders may be hiding across Pakistan.

According to the channel, the CDs gathered from Bin Laden’s compound revealed that top Al Qaeda commanders were not just limited to the tribal areas of Pakistan; in fact, they were hiding across the country. It also alleged the Pakistani government for providing assistance and hideouts to them.On the other hand, the United States Defence Secretary, Robert Gates, praised Pakistan’s role in war on terror. However, he said that Pakistan and US needed to elucidate their relationship.Gates said that Osama’s death could affect the ties between Al Qaeda and Taliban.China criticized the US government for conducting a unilateral operation in Pakistan saying that the sovereignty and independence of any country should have been respected.
