Rana Sanaullah arrested on tip-off from international agent: Shehryar Afridi.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi Thursday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah was arrested on a tip-off from international agent.

The state minister held a presser in Islamabad along with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Arif Malik and revealed that the suspects had planned to smuggle 15 kilograms of heroin from Lahore to international market.

“Members National Assembly (MNAs) are not above law, no culprit will manage to escape from now onwards as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision is of zero tolerance.

“Rana Sanaullah’s car was monitored for three weeks and the authorities have solid evidence against him which will be submitted in court. He was not stopped on three occasions by the officials as he was travelling with women.

“The government will set examples out of those who commit treason against the country. Narcotics are cancer for humanity and 1200 drug dealers have been arrested this year.

“It is not a matter of 15 kilograms of heroin; it is a matter of Pakistan’s integrity.

“This activity is not possible without the involvement of powerful people, and the influential persons are not stopped at check posts.

“Government has no personal enmity with anyone. Concerns were also raised when an operation was initiated in Karachi which eventually bore fruit as peace has now returned to the metropolis.”
