Sharjeel Memon granted bail in corruption case by SHC

PPP leader among 17 accused persons have been facing trial in an accountability court.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday granted bail to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader and former provincial information minister Sharjeel Memon in a corruption case of Rs5.75 billion pertaining to the information department of Sindh.

Meanwhile, the court has directed him to submit surety bond of Rs5 million. The court had reserved its verdict in the previous hearing in a bail plea filed by Memon.

According to details, 13 accused persons including former secretary information Dr Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani have been arrested for further investigation into the case.
