Jaffaria Alliance chief Allama Abbas Kumaili passes away in Karachi

Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of noted religious scholar.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Chief of Jafria Alliance Pakistan (JAP) and former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senator Allama Abbas Kumaili passed away in Karachi on Saturday.

Eminent religious scholar was being treated for his cardiac complications at a private hospital in the Soldier Bazaar area of Karachi.

Kumaili preached constructive and positive harmony among different religious schools of thought by using Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen’s (MWM) platform.

MWM council expressed their condolences on the passing of esteemed scholar holding him as a national asset.

MWM leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas expressed grief over the demise of Kumaili saying he has always stayed a strong advocate of unity among Muslims.

He also praised him for raising his voice against the oppression on people of Kashmir and Palestine.

The prime minister said that late Allama Kumaili was a strong voice for the unity of Muslims and sectarian harmony.

He also prayed for the departed soul and the bereaved family, PM office media wing in a press release said.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a condolence message said that services rendered by Allama Abbas Kumaili, for sectarian harmony will always be remembered.

Funeral prayers for the prominent scholar will be offered at the Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan mosque in the Soldier Bazaar of Karachi.
