Nawaz, Bilawal, Maryam congratulate nation on Eidul Fitr

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Political leaders of different parties on Tuesday felicitated nation on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

In his message on the occasion, incarcerated former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said that congratulated the Muslims around the world including Pakistan.

He also prayed for peace and stability across the world including Pakistan and the region.

On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while felicitating the nation on the occasion of Eidul Fitr and said, “On the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr, I wish to greet the Muslims throughout the world and of Pakistan in particular and pray for peace and prosperity in Pakistan, in our region and in the world.”

He said that his thoughts on this Eid were with the poor of the country groaning under unprecedented inflation, unemployment and unable to make both ends meet. He called upon the affluent to share the joy of Eid with their less fortunate brethren.

The PPP chairman said that the spirit of Ramazan was to inculcate the values of tolerance and humility and urged people to imbibe and pursue this spirit even beyond the month of Ramazan.

“On this occasion, let us also remember the poor and the needy, all those who have laid down their lives for peace in the country and all victims of brutalities and injustice,” he said.

Meanwhile, in her message, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz said that after having stayed with her father in jail on the last Eidul Azha, this is the first Eid she will be spending without parents, adding that she was not allowed to meet her father.

She said the former premier "has been spending Eidul Azha, Ramzan and Eidul Fitr in jail for he has committed the crime of demanding implementation of the Constitution of Pakistan".
