TLP leader Khadim Rizvi released from Kot Lakhpat jail

As per Dunya News sources, Khadim Rizvi was released from the second gate of Kot Lakhpat jail for security reasons.

 LAHORE (Dunya News) - Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi was released from Kot Lakhpat jail on Wednesday in a blasphemy case after Asia Bibi‘s acquittal.

TLP leader remained jailed for three months and 22 days in central jail. The court ordered to complete all the procedures prior to his release when his fingerprints and signs were registered upon his release. 

As per Dunya News sources, Khadim Rizvi was released from the second gate of Kot Lakhpat jail for security reasons.

Lahore High Court (LHC) on May 14 approved interim bail of TLP Chief Khadim Rizvi and senior leader Afzal Qadri in a case related to sabotaging peace in the wake of Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SC) verdict acquitting Asia Bibi in blasphemy case.

TLP patron-in-chief Afzal Qadri announced his retirement from the movement and issued an apology for inflammatory remarks and controversial speech against Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the superior judiciary during a protest against the Supreme Court’s acquittal of Asia Bibi.

Earlier, Lahore police had booked top brass of TLP including party’s chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and senior leader Afzal Qadri and lodged as many as 11 cases against them and 500 other unknown miscreants.

Likewise, 34 first investigation reports (FIRs) were registered in Faisalabad, 12 in Kasur district, two in Islamabad on charges of treason, inflammatory speeches, violence and vandalism.

Cases are lodged against the TLP members including Khadim Rizvi and Afzal Qadri for being rebellious and taking out terroristic activities in the country.
