Sahiwal Tragedy: Heirs of victims get cheques, await justice
He said government equally shares the grief and sorrow of the families of the victims.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Three months after the gruesome killing of four persons by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Sahiwal, the heirs of the deceased still await justice.
The heirs of deceased Khalil in their meeting with PM Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar appealed him to form a judicial commission to probe into the incident.
The prime minister while directing the Punjab CM to legally see if a judicial commission can be formed. The chief minister will take further step after consulting with the legal experts.
Speaking to the heirs of the victims, Imran Khan said a human life that has been lost can never be replaced.
He said government equally shares the grief and sorrow of the families of the victims.
PM Imran Khan also distributed cheques among the heirs of the victims of Sahiwal tragedy.
It is pertinent here to mention that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had completed probe into the incident, while judicial inquiry had also been conducted on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC). The reports of the inquiries had been submitted in the LHC.
