Fake accounts case: KDA's Najam Zaman, Hassan Memon sent on 10-day physical remand
Earlier, NAB officials had obtained their transit remand to transfer them to Islamabad.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – An accountability court in Islamabad on Monday sent Karachi Development Authority (KDA) land department director Najam Zaman and project director Hassan Memon to a 10-day physical remand in custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The accused officers of the KDA were arrested on Saturday from Karachi on the accusation of depositing money, made as commissions, into the fake accounts.
Earlier, NAB officials had obtained their transit remand to transfer them to Islamabad.
On March 15, a Karachi banking court approved NAB’s request to have the fake accounts case transferred to an accountability court in Rawalpindi.
According to sources, all suspects have obtained pre-arrest bail in the case. Omni Group Chairperson Anwar Majeed’s son Nimr Majeed has also acquired a bail.
With the court approving NAB’s request, their bail was cancelled.
On March 16, Zardari and his sister challenged the banking court’s decision of transferring the case to Rawalpindi in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
