Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi chaired the session of the Nation Assembly on Friday. Former federal minister Sherry Rehman said that the Supreme Court verdict had disappointed Mukhtaran Mai, urging the government to file a review petition and provide free legal aid to her. She said that the protection of Mukhtaran Mai was the responsibility of the government, therefore, proper security should be provided to her.Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik told the house that appropriate security arrangements had been made to protect Mukhtaran Mai and legal aid could be provided to her if she desired.The house approved the amendments to the NA’s processing and manual of the house 2007.
