KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former chief justice of Pakistan Justice (r) Saqib Nisar on Sunday said that the 18th amendment was prepared behind closed doors.

Addressing a ceremony in Karachi on Sunday, he said that unfortunately, we have not strengthened the country’s institutions, adding that he has no intentions of joining politics.

The former CJP said that no one can breach the trust of the people in this regard.

Justice (r) Saqib Nisar went on to say that he never absolved the judiciary of responsibilities, adding that the 18th amendment was prepared behind closed doors and debate was not held in the parliament in this regard.

“I would have been an employee of a bank if there was no Pakistan,” Nisar said and added he would make foreign visits for more dam funds.

“The government is bound to inform the court before spending the dam fund money,” he added.
